I was a patient of Dr. Kallal's and he was a fantastic oral surgeon for me. It was a very complicated extraction and he did marvelous I never had any issues. Super smart and talented doctor. Many of my family members were also his patients. Such a gentle doctor and honestly it should have but didn't hurt at all during the entire ordeal. I wish more doctors were as good as Dr. Kallal.

It's been ten years since his passing, but there is not a day that goes by where I don't look in the mirror and thank him for his amazing work and outstanding care I received when Dr. Kallal did my extensive jaw surgery back in 1989. He knew how long I had waited for that surgery and after he completed it, I went from looking and feeling like a troll to the most beautiful girl in my senior class. Not only was he a great surgeon, but he was extremely caring and truly cared about all of his patients. Being 51 now, I can't remember if I had thanked him back then, but I hope he knew how much he changed my life and how I will always be grateful to him. Always ...

Dr. Kallal, couldn't have performed a more basic task to him, and a more meaningful one to me than surgery to repair my underbite. At the very least I would have gone through life with migraine headaches, he saved me from that and I am truly heartbroken to hear of his passing. RIP Dr. Kallal.

I met Dr. Kallal years ago when I asked him to review a dental malpractice case for an oral surgeon I was representing. He was warm and gracious which is why we won the case. Then over the years, I became his friend....and even golfed with him. I will miss his advice and friendship.

Dr. Kallal corrected my class 3 jaw when I was in my mid-30's. I had been super self conscious of it since I could remember. I'm so grateful to him for fixing it and allowing me to have a better self-image. I happened to stumble upon this when I went to refer a co-worker to him.

My condolences go out for Dr. Kallal's family. I was his patient in which he had said was his most difficult case and he did a wonderful job. He changed my life forever by giving me the confidence I never had. By him, I am inspired to continue my education into a different direction of becoming an oral surgeon myself. I want to continue his type of work and love to change others' lives. I wish that I had really sat down to tell him all of this, he is my inspiration and will forever be missed.

I was one of the lucky ones. A young orthodontist in training who was mentored by a most skilled oral surgeon and teacher. I then had the priviledge of teaching with him for the next twenty years at Northwestern. I was also blessed to have such a good friend to take care of my surgical patients for many years.
Yes, I was one of the lucky ones. My heartfelt condolences to all the family. I will miss his warm smile and uplifting spirit. Rest in peace, RHK.
