Roger A. Taylor, 74, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022, at his home.
He was born September 12, 1947 in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Edith (Munn) Taylor. Roger married Gail M. Kolis on February 14, 1987.
As a child his family moved around the DeKalb area. Roger worked construction for Labor Local #109 and retired with labor local #32 in early 2005. In his free time, Roger enjoyed golfing, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Sycamore Sportsman Club. Roger loved watching cowboy westerns and crime shows. His granddaughters were his pride and joy, he looked forward to the calls and visits from Texas. Roger was a strong, tough man, he was a leader that lived life the way he wanted.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; his children, Mark Taylor of Panama City, Florida, Victoria (Tori) Taylor (Scott Preston) of Ovilla, Texas; grandchildren, Aubrey Taylor and Analiese Preston of Ovilla, Texas; siblings, Jerry Taylor (Martha Barr) of DeKalb, Illinois, Linda (Roger Mohney) of Genoa, Illinois, Larry Taylor of Macon, Missouri and David (Toni) Taylor of Addison, Illinois; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The celebration of life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Moose Lodge, 1231 Lincoln Hwy, DeKalb.
