Anthony Guzzino

Anthony Guzzino, age 84, lifelong Chicago Heights resident, passed away March 2nd. Former owner of Guzzino Plumbing and 53 year member of Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local 130. Husband for 59 years of Nancy, nee Voltattorni. Father of Lonnie Guzzino. Grandfather of two, great-grandfather of three. Brother of the late Josephine Rossetti, Sarah Conti, Lillian Squeteri, Joseph, Philip, Nicholas and Dominic Guzzino. Beloved uncle and dear friend of many. Member of Purple Heart Veterans, Chicago Heights V.F.W., American Legion Chicago Heights Post 1198, Catholic War Veterans Chicago Heights Memorial Post 1060, Italian-American War Veterans, Chicago Heights Marchegiana Society. From 1942 to 1945 he served the U.S.M.C. as an Anti-Aircraft Machine Gunner in the Asiatic-Pacific and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal on March 15, 1944. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St., [US Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.], Chicago Heights, on Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m. to St. Kieran Church, Chicago Heights.
