Brandon Bernier Obituary

Bernier, Brandon Tyler Brandon Tyler Bernier, 25, HFHS class of 2005, died on Monday, January 21st in a tragic car accident in northern California. He is survived by his mother, Carol (Clark); his father, Joe; his brother, Clark (CJ); his sister, Nikki Brosh and her husband, Steven; his Granny, Patricia; various aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as a large group of friends in both Chicago and San Francisco. He attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and transferred to the University of Illinois, Chicago, in 2007.He graduated from UIC in 2009. Brandon was a talented and committed network engineer, who while in Chicago worked at the Chicago Trading Company and at Groupon. In April, 2012, Brandon joined his brother in SanFrancisco. There, he developed the network for the Pac-12 sportsconference, and spent his time exploring the mountains of the West Coast and biking throughout the Bay Area. Brandon was an avid cyclist and a committed member of the cycling community. Biking was part of his daily life; he organized and led group rides in both San Francisco and Chicago, and had done bicycle tours in New Zealand, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, and along the West Coast of the U.S. He often volunteered for Working Bikes in Chicago, repairing discarded bikes to help underserved communities in Chicago, South America, and Africa. A memorial service celebrating Brandon's life will be held on Saturday, February 2 at Sergeant Means Park 20712 Western Ave.Olympia Fields, IL 60461 from 25PM with a service at 3. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a fund that will bedistributed to community charities Brandon had supported. Checks can be made payable to: the "Brandon Bernier Memorial Fund" and mailed to: Brandon Bernier Memorial Fund c/o Joe Bernier 16000 Kerryton Pl. Dr. Ellisville, MO 63021.
