Edward Hoglund Obituary

ISHPEMING, MI - Edward Carl Hoglund Jr., 87 of Dwight & Blue Island passed away December 12, 2017 in his home surrounded by the love and laughter of family. "Hoagie" as he was often referred was born October 6, 1930 in Ishpeming, Upper Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Dennis and beloved wife Karen "Suzanne" (Lahti) Hoglund. He is survived by his loving children; his son Douglas Hoglund of Blue Island (Kimberly Oehrlein), his daughter Dorothy Hoglund-Jezek (Tony) of Dwight and chosen daughter Gretchen Zimmerman (Michael) of Eureka. Also, survived by the loves of his life, his 9 grandchildren; April Scott (Andrew), Dennis Hoglund (Danielle Bayze), Alison Connors (Christopher), Michael Jezek (Adra Nowicki), Christopher Jezek, Rose Zimmerman, Lucas Zimmerman, Lois Zimmerman & Joan Zimmerman. "Little Papa" is also survived by the joys of his life, his 5 great grandchildren; Madelyn Scott, McKenzie Connors, Riley Scott, Jackson Connors & Archer Connors. According to Hoagie's wishes, a "Celebration of Life" memorial will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 3-7pm at The Meadows Golf Course 2802 123rd St. in Blue Island, IL. Donations in his name can be made to The Pediatric Congenital Heart Association of Illinois in honor of his great grandchildren. www.conqueringchd.com/illinois.
