Visitation and funeral: 9:30 a.m. August 12, 2022, at New Hope Church, 5100 W 115th Street, Alsip, IL 60803. In lieu of flowers tribute donations in support of the International Students Fellowship of Moody Bible Institute are requested.

My father , Michel C. Vaes, my wife Nathalie and myself are sorry to hear of his passing. Frank and my father met at the university of Chicago in 1958 and remain friends ever since. I remember with emotion J&F s invitation to my wife and I in 1989 when I join myself the U of C. My parents met Joyce and Frank for the last time about 10 years ago in their house in st palais sur mer, France. Our thoughts are with them. Kind regards, Christophe vaes

Very sorry to hear that.
Joyce and Frank Pokin ,are very nice people. Since we knew each other, they always considered and tried the very best to help me.
As an international student, I felt very lonely in Chicago. Moody church, and people like them , are so nice to give us a lot of fun and help. In the meantime, they never calculated their investment, time and financial cost . Fortunately Mr. Frank Pokin and I became good friends from the first meeting in an event . He helped me on job hunting , marriage management , etc . I cannot forget his sincere and unselfish input .
Although I was back China in 2011, we are in good touch, as I am so grateful to him . Although I know every body has such a day, and he said a few times he lost the energy , it's still shocking to hear that. He had a wonderful life, in career and family. I know he took care of Joyce for a long time. He is a very responsible man. I hope him rest in peace .
His life and spirit has inspired his children, Cathy, Louise, Andrew, and us as well.
