The Baker Family (Jim & Lottie,(deceased) Sharon, Lauri, Susan, Mike and Steve) remember the good times with Jess and June and family, along with Howard and Verna Oliphant and family while we were growing up. Jesse was a wonderful friend to Dad. We celebrate a life well lived and will cherish his memories forever.

If there ever was a person alive who was more proud of his family, his Church, or his Country, I have never met him or her in all my 66 years. Jesse ( who was always Mr. to me) Rodriguez was the epitome of what an American citizen should be. He loved God and his Catholic faith so very much that when Easter time rolled around at St. Isidore Church here in Blue Island, Mr. Rodriguez was the ONLY choice to play the role as Jesus in the reading of the 'Passion of our Lord'. The church was always packed to listen to Jesus say his final words before his death. Till this very day you could ask any former parishoner about Easter Sunday at St. Isidore and Mr. Rodriguez's name will still come up. No one deserved that role more. Mr.and Mrs. Rodriguez were very good neighbors who treated everyone they met with the utmost respect. And if you don't believe that just look at their children. A parents' true legacy in life is measured in the way their children reflect what they have learned just by observing Mom and Dad while growing up. Danny, Glenn, and Kathy...You had the best!
Mrs. Rodriguez, my wife Lori and I are so sorry for your loss. Just know that everyone in the St. Isidore family have you in our prayers. God be with you all.
And by the way, Old Glory still waves proudly at your former home on Lincoln St.

Grandpa, I will always remember you cracking open fresh jars of peanuts in the basement, offering Wrigley's juicy fruit gum, your beloved cup of coffee with sugar and cream, your profound patriotism and the thoughtful prayer you offered before every meal. I hope you're savoring a delicious bowl of menudo and an amazing margarita. I'll miss your forever, Theresa xo
