Dear Bob and the Kane family,
My deepest sympathy on your loss. I always had a great deal of respect for your dad.
Mickey Kane story - Mr. Kane always seemed to be in rush so when I talked to him I attempted to be as short as possible when I felt he was really in a rush I used four phrases "Hello Mr. Kane" "How are you Mr. Kane?" " No or Yes Mr. Kane" and "Have a good day Mr Kane" because when he spoke I listened. I always thought the center was a testament to his generousity and kindness so I always thought he might have been on his to do center work so I did not want to waste his time.
He was always very nice to me and showed a great deal of patience in the many "band" adventures.

Dear Dorothy and Bob,
My deepest sympathy to you and the whole Kane family. These few words cannot express how much your dad meant to me and Linda. Let it comfort you to know, Linda is now showing your dad the "Heavenly Ropes", teaching him a Saintly version of "Down By The Bay" and letting him take over as the caller for "Cloud Bingo". I know Linda's years at Sertoma were among her best. Mine too! Thank You Mickey!

My condolences to all of the Kane family. I'm sure that Mickey is putting on the clouds and will soon become the president of the Saints and Angels Men's Club. I also believe that he'll win every Nassau with Fred Skadell, Charlie Walsh, etc. by sinking every 10 foot putt, as usual.

To the Kanes,
No words can tell you how sad I am, nor how much Mickey meant to me. My years at the Special Children's Center are the most memorable of my life. It was there I made my life long friends and learned to give back.Thank you for sharing your dad with me. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the Kanes, and particularly Joe, Monica, and family,
I didn't get the chance to meet Mickey until late in his life, but it was certainly a pleasure. A glint of mirth in his eye, and loyalty and generosity in his heart: A true Irishman, a true Chicagoan. May he rest in peace.

Dear Dorothy & Bob,
The fondest memories I have of your dad was at the Sertoma Special Children's Center. A place he helped create. My Linda spent the most happiest years of her life at the Center. It also helped siblings and area teens learn the meaning of volunteering and caring for people with disabilities.
THANK YOU MICKEY AND GOD BLESS.

My condolences especially to Mike and Bob on the passing of their dad.
I always picture Mickey on the golf course at Gleneagles, pants tucked into his socks, a smile on his face and a warm greeting on his lips. His rare bursts of temper were directed only at his own bad shots. I hope he now enjoys bogey-free golf on those heavenly links with all his old pals.

To the entire Kane Family:
"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you
In the palm of his hand."
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.
