Nick LoBue Obituary

LoBue MD, Nick G. Dr. Nick G. LoBue, 85, passed away October 23, 2013, in Naples, Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, Velia (Jacobucci); father, John; stepson, Mark Shannon; and grandson, Mark LoBue. Nick was formally from Chicago Heights, Illinois, where he practiced family medicine for 30 years and was founding member at the Boulevard Medical Clinic. He served in the armed forces in Italy 1946-48 and retired to Naples, Florida. In his later years, he became a power lifter, competing internationally and winning a gold medal in the Masters Bench Press at the 1996 Goodwill Games. His 1998 Masters world record for his age group in the Bench Press still stands. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; three sons, James, Robert, Steven; daughter, Sharon; and seven grandchildren. Nick's wish was to be cremated and to have a celebration of his life in Chicago Heights. The memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Chicago Heights on Saturday, May 31, at 11:00 a.m.
