I didn't know Dick by name (only recently finding out through a neighbor) but he would walk by our house daily for as long as I can remember. Always a friendly hello and kind demeanor. He would take the time to visit with everyone's pets. My dog Lucy adored Dick, she would go crazy with excitement every time he walked up. I haven't seen Mr. Keller in months and was hoping he had maybe just moved away but was saddened to learn he had passed. His kindness and compassion was evident through his actions. My sincere condolences to the Keller family.

My heart dropped when I heard of the passing of Dick Keller. I was hired at Thornridge High School by him in 1997. He was, without a doubt, the best person and leader to work for. He was a true "people person". He was always smiling, happy and did his job with a positive attitude. I will always remember him to be the first principal I ever worked for, and the best. My deepest sympathy to the family of Dick Keller. He was one of the "good guys".

I'm sure I was one of the many shocked and saddened by Dick's sudden passing. My condolences to his wife, children, family and friends.
Dick was one of the people who hired me at Thornridge back in 1990. I will never forget how funny he was, but mostly his kindness. He always treated everyone with so much kindness.
More than that, Dick provided so much guidance and mentoring, allowing me to improve on my failures and soar high with my successes. I learned so much from this man. Best of all, Dick was a man of people. The kids loved him...and so did those who worked with him. If you were feeling a little down or frustrated, a few minutes of a "Dick Keller pep talk" and life was good again.
One never knows why God finally calls a person home, but we can all take solace that he is in a better place. Think of the good times spend with him. Smile and laugh because that's what he would want. And lastly, cherish the time spent with this lovely man. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of reflection. All my best.

I was a student at Thornridge 72-76 and Mr Keller was my teacher but the most memorable moment was when he set me up with a date to the girl's club dance with Jason Frazier. I was initially mortified by the suggestion but then the young man said, "yeah, ok" the way a cool 16 y/o does. Still a fond memory.

I am very proud to have known Mr. Keller. This man was an amazing teacher. I was lucky enough to work for the school later on in the theater department and witness him in his administration years. Fast forward to recent times where I was able to befriend his daughters. I know that he was proud of who they became and their accomplishments. Much love, light, peace and healing to the family. You have a great support system in place with friends and family.

My condolences to Mr. Keller's family. He was my history teacher in 1975-1976 at Thornridge H.S. Never forgot that line in all these years. It always makes me laugh & puts a smile on my face. God Bless a truly cool teacher of his time. R.I.P. Mr. Keller.
