Robert L. Carstensen

Robert "Bob" Carstensen. Age 75. Schererville, Indiana resident, formerly of Chicago Heights and Peotone, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023. Bob was the proud owner of Olympic Printing in Chicago Heights for 28 years. Before moving to Indiana, Bob was a former member/president of Chicago Heights Kiwanis Noon Club, board member of Chicago Heights School District 170, Chairman of the Chicago Heights Fire and Police Board, and board member of Mercy Residence of Tolentine Center. In his spare time, Bob liked to work in his workshop. He enjoyed RVing, taking his family on many adventures across the country. He was a kind, generous man respected by many for his honesty, integrity, and compassion. Survived by his wife of 49 years Cecile nee DeGuilio. Father of Bridget (John Tallarico) Carstensen and Brian (Andrea Berting) Carstensen. He will be missed by his four-legged fur baby Chloe. Son of the late Lenora nee Hannover and Siegfried Carstensen. Brother of the late Joy (late Jim) Townsend and baby sister Mary Jean Carstensen. Brother in-law of Vic (Judy) DeGuilio Nephew of the late Dorothy nee Hannover and late Marvin Behrens. Uncle to Michael (Stefanee) Townsend, Patricia (Dick) Ooykaas, Dana (Aurelia D'Antonio) DeGuilio and Jeffrey (Brooke) DeGuilio. Great-uncle, great-great uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th St (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Saturday May 20, 2023, from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Services 12:00 Noon. Interment private.
