Stephen Hernik Obituary

Stephen J. Steve Hernik Sr. Age 88, late of Orland Park formerly of Chicago. Steve was born February 23, 1916. Loving husband of Anne nee Kaleta of 57 years. Loving dad of Barbara Rogers of Pegram, TN, Sandra Kurtzman of Crystal Lake, Patricia Stare of Roselle and Stephen Jr. Of Orland Park. Steves life has been further blessed with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by all 3 of his siblings; dear brother of Walter of Chicago, Jenny Mohr and Julia Cairns recently of Naples, FL formerly of Chicago. Steve and his brother Walter owned and ran Steve & Wallys Tavern at 1224 W. Webster Ave., Chicago for 25 years until they sold in 1973. Thereafter, he worked for Advance Contractors until he retired in 1981. Steve served in the U.S. Army in WWII for 4 years in the Pacific. Steven was a life-member of Amvets, Colin Kelly Post No. 17, Chicago. Visitation Sunday 2:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Monday 8:45 a.m. from Thornridge Funeral Home [Janusz Family Funeral Service] 14318 S.
