Steven Craig Larsen Jr.

Larsen Jr., Steven Craig Born September 5th, 1982, Galveston Island, Texas. A resident of Tinley Park, Steven was a loving son, caring brother, and wonderful friend. Steven will be remembered for his willingness to lend an ear to friends in need and provide honest, heartfelt advice. He was an avid follower of politics and loved to discuss the news. However, his love for intellectual discourse was not limited to current affairs (although we would be remiss in not mentioning his affection for NPR's "This American Life"). Whether it was a debate over medieval philosophy or firearm ballistic characteristics, Steven always enjoyed spirited conversationand almost always was the better-informed participant. Steven also enjoyed the outdoors: hiking, fishing, shooting, and camping - visiting the Appalachians, Rockies, and Pacific Northwest in recent years, but always returning home to his beloved fat cats, Bigfoot (deceased-2014) and Gilberta. Although he immensely enjoyed the companionship of his animals, most of all he loved the company of his friends and family and spending time with the people he cared about most. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Steven Craig Larsen Sr. and his grandmother, Carol Larsen. He is survived by his mother, Jane Jackson; his sisters, Sarah Hoffman and Brianna Jackson; his step-sister, Brittany Schneider; his stepfather, Michael Jackson; and his grandparents, Dorothy and Richard Lyman. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29th at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 15050 Central Ave., Oak Forest, IL 60452. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
