Very sad and a great loss as a dear and close friend. I will miss him, and since I learned of his passing, he has been in my thoughts and prayers frequently. He was a friend for over 55 years.
I know his family will survive this and always keep Joe in their hearts and memories.

Joe Dee was the absolute worst fellow in the USA, never smiled, couldn't put the ball in the basket, couldn't guard his own jockstrap, and was no fun at all. Let's be real clear now: NO ONE EVER said that about Joe! just wanted to get your attention. I played ( or that is, I tried) basketball with Joe at Mount Carmel HS in Chicago. He was a soph and I was a senior and he was then, and was when I saw him last, the happiest person God ever created. His wife is lucky, his parents must have been geniuses, and his kids and grandkids are the luckiest people in Chicagoland and possibly in all creation. The world will not be as happy a place until we get over this death in our time. God Loves you, Joe, and called you home to be with him. Peace to you and to your beautiful family. You were one of your friends' favorites in every respect. Go Carmel!!

Coach Dee-the best coach I ever had. Coached our small fry team to the world championship in Newark New Jersey and taught us many life lessons along the way. Praying for strength and comfort for the Dee family during this difficult time

I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for all of you. Mr. Dee was the best. His love for sports and support of the Marian football teams during the years 1984-1987 when I played with Johnny will be something I always cherish and remember.

Joe will always be the epitome of what God wants us all to be....a good, kind, hard working man. He and Bernice were a couple who showed their love of each other to everyone through their actions; a father and grandfather who was always there, a volunteer who gave 110% of his time and energy, a faithful parishioner of St Agnes....
