John Raney Obituary
Bloomfield - On Monday December 21, 2020, John Olin Raney, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away in his home at age 83.
John was born in Eugene, Oregon on June 29, 1937 to Ervin Raney and Irene (Sailor) Raney. John served in the Air Force for 4 years after high school. He spent most of his life living and working in Bloomfield, NM. He married his wife, Judith Raney of 58 years, on April 28, 1962. They raised 3 children together; 2 sons Delbert and Marvin, and 1 daughter Jeanette. John became a licensed contractor and spent over 50 years building custom homes in San Juan County. John loved camping, snowmobiling, and spending time with loved ones.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Irene, son Marvin, grandson Justin, and brother-in-law Pat Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Judith; siblings, Lorraine Phillips and Glen (Donna) Raney; children, Delbert (Kendal) and Jeanette; grandchildren, Alycia, Jaycelena (DeWayne) Garcia, Whitley, and Brianna; and great grandchildren; Ellyanna, Teija, and Marcos.
A viewing will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 12-3 p.m. and a funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10 a.m. Both will be at First Baptist Church of Bloomfield, NM.
Please note if you plan to attend the viewing and/or funeral service a mask is required. Flower donations can be sent to 4112 Abbey Rd Farmington, NM 87402.
