Larry Mark, 51, of Shiprock, passed from this life on Saturday, March 5, 2011. He was born April 6, 1959, in Shiprock. Larry was Tóaheedliní, born for Tlaaschi'íí. His maternal grandparents were Tlizí dal chí'íí; his paternal grandparents were Kinlíchínii.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Viola Shaggy and Shaggy Redhorse; paternal grandparent, Bessie Jeli; parents, Joan Shaggy and Chester Mark Sr.; sister, Bernice Benally; and mother, Clinton Mark.
Larry is survived by his sons, Shain L. Mark (Charlotte), Broderick L. Mark (Shelby) and Lincoln Mark; daughter, Sharlet R. Mark; grand-nali Bugs, Diego Charle, Dylan Caden, Kelan Cole and Satya Ava; brothers, Chester Mark Jr., and Conway Mark (Joey); sisters, Beverly Mark Maxwell (Alan), Bernadette Mark (Tommy) and Gwendolyn Mark (Nolan); and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers are Broderick Mark, Calvin Benally, Curtis John, Johnny Kady, Victor Descheenie and Eddie Gilmore, assisted by Shain Mark, Lincoln Mark, Sharlet Mark, Chester Mark Jr., and Conway Mark.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Desert View Funeral Home of Shiprock, North U.S. Hwy. 491, followed at 11 a.m. by graveside services at the family plot in Shiprock.
A funeral reception will be at Diné College, north campus gymnasium in Shiprock, following graveside services.
