Wannell LaJune (Green) McBride
June 20, 1930 - May 8, 2009
Wannell LaJune (Green) McBride, 78, a resident of Farmington since 1976, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at her home. Wannell was born June 20, 1930, in Mexhoma, Okla., the daughter of Bessie Lee (Owen) Green and Harter Brown Green.
She graduated from Clayton High School in Clayton. Wannell married Tommy McBride in 1949, also in Clayton. She was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company for six years and met and made many friends while working there. She lived in Big Penny, Wyo., for 13 years and in Vernal, Utah, for seven years.
Wannell was an active and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Farmington. Her hobbies were sewing, traveling in her motor home for over 10 years with her husband and family and seeing the country. Wannell was also a member of the Red Hat Club of Farmington. She'll be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Wannell was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Wannell is survived by her husband of 59 years, Tommy McBride of Farmington; sons, Tony McBride and wife, Jolene, of Louisville, Ky., Rusty McBride and wife, Charlene, of Vernal, Utah, and Hobey McBride and wife, Susan, of Farmington; daughters, Barbara McBride of Mesa, Ariz., Susan Parker and husband, Rodney, of Farmington; 13 beautiful grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, whom she loved and adored. She also is survived by her brother, Robert Green, of Boise City, Okla.; and many dear friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington. The family would like to invite everyone who knew Wannell to come by and share a memory or two.
Cremation will take place. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 11, at First Baptist Church of Farmington, 121 N. Auburn Ave., with the Rev. Brad Perry officiating.
Special thanks to Northwest New Mexico Hospice staff and volunteers for the wonderful care of our loved one.

I also had the great pleasure to work with Wannell for several years at El Paso. She always had the most heart warming smile and a twinkle in her eye that told you you she was a friend. My condolences to all the family.

I worked with Wannell at El Paso. Out families new each other well. I will miss her terribly. Such a sweet person and so full of life. May God comfort the family at this time.
