Charles Eckert Obituary
ELIZABETH CITY - Charles Vernon Eckert, Sr. 69 of 133 Spindrift Trail, Elizabeth City, NC died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born December 28, 1947 in Beaufort County, NC to the late Leo Andrew Eckert and Lydia Bell Baker Eckert Brickhouse. He was a member of Fountain of Life Pentecostal Church and a retired deputy sheriff for Pasquotank County.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Barefoot Eckert of the residence; a daughter, Kathy Eckert (finance Bill Clark) of Hertford, NC; a son, Leo Edward Eckert (Marjorie) of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Hope Marie Brickhouse of Elizabeth City, NC; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a son, Charles Vernon Eckert, Jr. and a brother, Kenneth Franklin Parker.
A memorial service will be Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fountain of Life Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Preston Pitchford officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and immediately following the service at the church. At other times the family will be at the residence of the son, Leo Eckert, at 111 Dramtree Drive, Elizabeth City, NC. Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Eckert family. You may express condolences to the family by visiting www.TwifordFH.com .
