Donald Stallings Obituary
Belvidere resident
Donald Ray Stallings, 67, of 665 Turnpike Road, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in his home. Mr. Stallings was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late Louis Richard Sr. and Buna Winslow Stallings. A farmer, he was a member of the Coastal Carolina Cattlemen's Association, NC 225 Bushel Corn Club and the NC 60 Bushel Soybean Club. A member of Bethany United Methodist Church, he had served as a trustee and as Sunday school superintendent for 37 years. He had served in the NC National Guard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Jimmy Stallings. Surviving are his wife of nearly 43 years, Barbara Riddick Stallings; a daughter, Paula Kaye Boyce and husband, Robert, of Elizabeth City; a son, Allen Wayne Stallings and wife, Missy, of Belvidere; two sisters, Geraldine Driver of Wilmington, Del. and Judy Lowman of Belvidere; a brother, Clyde Stallings of Belvidere; and four grandchildren, Madisyn and Collin Boyce and Kenley and Addisyn Stallings. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bethany United Methodist Church by the Rev. Edwin Rutenkroger. Burial will follow in Up River Cemetery with Miller and Van Essendelft Funeral and Cremation Providers, Hertford, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church Building Fund, in care of Missy Stallings, 729 Turnpike Road, Belvidere, NC 27919.
