A legacy has been laid to rest. Dr. Sutton, a woman of great character and stamina was the instrument that initiated the Department of Mathematics at ECSU and nursed that first class like we were her offspring through to graduation (1966). She will continue to live in my heart as I past on what she gave to me.

Dr. Sutton initiated the math department at ECSU. I was in the first class of math majors to graduate from ECSU. I was sorry to hear of Dr. Sutton's death. We who had the pleasure to study under her (class of 1966) can truly give her the credit for the successes we have enjoyed over the years. Thank You Dr. Sutton.

It is with great sorrow to hear of the lost of a fantastic person like Dr. Sutton. She was my department chariman and advisor at ECSU during my tenure 1974-1978. She was always willing to go above and beyond for her students. She will truly be missed by the many of students lives that she touched at ECSU. Peace be with you Dr. Sutton, I'm glad God allowed us to cross pathways. Rest in Peace.

It was with great sorrow that, I read the passing of Dr. Sutton. She was an inspiration to me during my time at ECSU. She was a great instructor and I learned a lot more about life through her teachings and mannerisms.
