CAMDEN - Ruby Brite Taylor, age 85, of Chantilly Road, Camden, NC passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Born in Pasquotank County, NC to the late James R. Brite and Margaret Harrell Brite, she was the proud wife of George Walter Taylor, the love of her life. Mrs. Taylor was a secretary for many years for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, the Golden Circle Sunday School Class, WMU, Senior Adult Choir, Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Corinthian Quilters.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Larry Joe Taylor (Teresa) of Elizabeth City, NC and Carl Ray Taylor (Susan) of Norfolk, VA; one sister, Mary B. Watz of Durham, NC; one brother, William H. "Bill" Bright (Thelma) of Ocala, FL; three grandchildren, Scottie Taylor (Paula), Daniel Taylor (Sara), and Stacy King (Tony); one great grandchild, Alistair King; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann Brite, two brothers, Jimmy Ray Brite and Wesley Clay Brite, and a grandchild, Nicholas Taylor.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Cale, 377 Camp Cale Road, Hertford, NC 27944 or the Alzheimers' Foundation, P. O. Box 1254, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
