Robert Hallet "Bobby" Owens

Robert "Bobby" Hallet Owens, age 71, of Camden, NC, died Monday, February 16, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1954, to the late Hallet Ward Owens and Eula West Owens.

Bobby was a long-haul trucker and a gifted master mechanic who could fix just about anything with an engine. He was known for his strong work ethic, his steady hands, and his deep knowledge of the road. If it had horsepower, Bobby loved it. He had a passion for going fast – whether it was riding his motorcycle, being out on the water on his Larson jet ski, working on his beloved bright yellow '55 210 drag racing car, or watching NASCAR. The thrill of the engine and the roar of the track were some of his greatest joys.

Bobby will be remembered for his wit, love of music, speed, mechanical talent, devotion to his family, and his soft heart for animals. His presence, stories, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by a daughter, Samantha Loh (Dave); a sister, Donna O. Hassell (Glenn); two granddaughters, Riley Moody (Cline) and Haleigh Icenhour; a niece; three nephews; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Carroll and Megan Icenhour; and three step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; a granddaughter, Logan Hancock; and his beloved Siamese cats, Nick and KC, who brought him comfort and companionship for well over two decades.
