NEW MADISON -- James "Jim" J. Alexander, age 82, of New Madison, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born on February 1, 1943 in New Madison to the late Lloyd and Bessie (Haines) Alexander.
Those left to cherish Jim's memory include his daughters, Shereea Thacker and her husband Marvin of Greenville and Leah Hedleston of Vandalia, OH; sister, Linda Christian of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Emily Wagner, Zachary Melling, Gracie Thacker, Wyatt Thacker, Madisyn Gay, and Nick Hedleston; and great grandchildren, Landon, Ross, Reed, Amelia, and Riley.
Jim graduated from New Madison High School in 1961 and went on to meat cutting school after graduation. He worked as a meat cutter for 42 years at Marsh Supermarkets. Jim enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He also enjoyed yard work, riding his Harley motorcycles, watching football and NASCAR, and loved his cats.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison with Pastor Eric Fee officiating.
