Bob Bentovoja Obituary

July 31, 2019 - Nov. 10, 2019 Bob was a lifelong resident of San Pedro and passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Affectionately known as "Boss", he was very generous and had a heart of gold. He was an avid sports fan and was especially devoted to Notre Dame Football. Boss was a gifted artist who worked for the Herald Examiner, Movie/TV studios and private clientele. Boss enjoyed visits from his family and friends, was always light-hearted and humble. Boss is now with his parents Petar and Maria, and his brother Pete. Survived by his niece, Mitzi; nephews, David, Randy and Paul along with many relatives and loved ones. A Private family service will be held.

Bob was one of the most talented people I've ever met and certainly kind to his fans. His stunning artwork will live on in the hearts (and collections) of TV and movie fans around the world for generations to come.

The Bentovoja family came to our aid when we were almost down and out, and no Christmas or Easter was complete without a visit to their festive table.
At a time when so many of us aspired to be cartoonists or sports announcers, Boss seemed to do it all. In my loneliest days away from home, his caricatures on the cover of the weekly TV Guide were an encouragement and a strong link to the wholesomeness of our upbtinging.
Every day he spent quality time before the Blessed Sacrament, and although he was no paper saint (as some of his classmates can attest), he was one saintly man -- a credit to his family and an example to his friends.
