Danny was born on January 1, 1947 in San Pedro, CA. He was the 2nd eldest of eight children. Danny loved getting together with his family and friends, he touched the lives of many. He was a lifetime resident of San Pedro, a United States Army Vietnam veteran, an avid fisherman, and a proud longshoreman. He was a longshoreman with ILWU Local 13 for many years before retiring in August 2008, due to medical problems. After a long illness he passed away at Cedar Sinai on March 16, 2010. Danny was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Eleanor (Perez) Gandara; stepfather, David Torres; and brother, David Gandara. He leaves behind his children, Melanie, Aaron and Jennifer Gandara; grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, Raymond, Nathan; sisters, Elaine MacDonald, Loretta Inocentes; brothers, Frank, Stephen (Magoo), Anthony (Bimbo), Leonard; numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends, the Pedroza family, and girlfriend, Christina. Danny's passing leaves us all with great sorrow and he will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone that loved him. Services will be held March 27, 2010 at 1:00pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel at 27501 S. Western Avenue in Rancho Palos Verdes. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
