Lorraine Hansen Obituary

Lorraine "Kay" Hansen, age 73, a resident of Manhattan Beach for over 54 years was called home to Heaven on June 1, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 23, 1938 in Spokane, Washington to LaVern and Hilda Robertson, Kay is the oldest of three siblings and is survived by her sister, Lorna Jezulin and brother, Bud Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Clyde Hansen. They were married on March 5, 1956. After a long wait Kay will be reunited with her husband, Dale in Heaven.
In 1968 Kay and Dale co-founded "Hansen's Welding," now owned by their sons.
Her passions included "saleing" (estate/garage sales) where you were bound to see her around town, spending time in her gardens, and serving others in need.
As an active member of her church, Chapel of The Valley in Manhattan Beach for over 40 years, (now known as Cornerstone Christian Fellowship) she spent many years serving the Lord by teaching Sunday school, Bible school and helping out wherever she was needed. Those left to carry on are her sons, Gary Hansen and Bob (Dawn) Hansen; her daughter, Shanda Schreer; seven grandchildren, Cheryl (Billy) Lemire, Garrett Hansen, Rachel Hansen, Markus Montoya, Alexandria Hansen, Robert Hansen, Kayli Schreer; two great grandchildren, McKensey and Bradley Lemire; along with the Jezulin and Robertson families including many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kay was committed to her family and was always showing them how much she loved them. She will be remembered for her loving generosity, unlimited kindness and especially her unfaltering trust and faith in God. Beloved Mother, Mimi, Mana Kay, Sister and Friend you will always be remembered and never forgotten. We will meet again in Heaven and what a celebration it will be.
Please join us to celebrate and honor the life of Kay Hansen at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship located at 300 N. Redondo Avenue in Manhattan Beach on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the charity close to your heart. Thank you to family and friends for all of your love and support during her journey here on earth. As Mom always said, "Keep Looking Up."
