Lupe Alvarez Obituary

September 1, 1914 - March 2, 2009
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lupe Cabrera Alvarez was born on September 1, 1914 in Douglas, Arizona. She was a long time resident of Torrance California where she attended Torrance High School. She met and married Antonio Alvarez (who preceded her in death) and raised her family in Torrance. Nana was known for her exceptional cooking, sewing, knitting and gardening. One of her great passions was her fellowship with the Legion of Mary where she was a long standing parishioner of Nativity Catholic Church in Torrance. Lupe is survived by her four sons, Edward and his wife, Claudia, Richard, Anthony and his wife Debra and Arthur Alvarez. She is the grandmother to Robert Alvarez, Rachel Alvarez-Jett, Andrew Alvarez, Laura Alvarez, Sara Alvarez; and the great grandmother to Nicholas Alvarez-Jett, Christopher Alvarez-Jett, Ashley Alvarez and April Alvarez. Her love also extended to so many others who called her mom whom will share in our loss. Her Rosary will be at Halverson, Stone & Myers Mortuary on Thursday, March 5th at 7pm. There will be a service at Nativity Catholic Church on Friday, March 6th at 10am.
