Lynn McGowan

1948 - 2024

McGowan, Lynn Marie, aged 75 of Palos Verdes Estates, California, passed away on January 2, 2024, following a 23-year battle with the aftereffects of cancer. Her strength and determination to accept and overcome this medical condition became her hallmark. She was admired, loved and treasured by her many friends and family. Lynn was born in Montevideo, Minnesota, on August 17, 1948, to Marly and Mary Ann Aamot, and moved to Minneapolis after high school. She spent much of her life in Minneapolis working in international travel for Northwest Airlines (Delta Airlines), retiring in 1993. She moved to Southern California in 1995 after her husband's job transfer. She was the epitome of fashion and her class, style, grace and dignity were always evident. After retiring from Northwest, Lynn pursued her dream to sell designer women's clothing, but still found time to give back by volunteering at local hospitals. Lynn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, international travel, her Norwegian heritage, spending time in Vail, C0., and gourmet cooking. We will miss her so. Lynn is survived by her husband of 34 years, David McGowan, her son, John Rosenquist, stepsons: Christopher (Jane) McGowan, Brian (Ashleigh) McGowan, and David (Sharon) McGowan, and her grandchildren, Caitlin, CJ, Katherine, David and Graham. A celebration of life will be held at the Neighborhood Church in the community she loved: Palos Verdes Estates, on January 26th, at 11:00AM, with a reception to follow at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
