Michael Fucci Obituary
Michael Louis Fucci, of Manhattan Beach, passed away among family and friends on July 1, 2014. He was born in Inglewood, CA on November 24, 1947 to Louis Michael and Una Hope Fucci. He graduated from Loyola University with a degree in history. He married Tina on November 29, 1974. A destined entrepreneur, he started Loyola Trucking at the age of 22, followed by Del Rey Trucking. Mike was passionate about history, politics, baseball, faith, family and supporting numerous charities in Los Angeles. He and Tina traveled the world together and always looked forward to their next adventure. Mike is survived by his wife, Tina; children, Kristin (Chris) Scherlacher and Patrick Fucci (fiancée Karin Long); grandchildren, Kate, Quinn and Brooke Scherlacher; sisters, Maureen (Ron) Croft and Arleen (Bill) Reich. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following organizations: Manhattan Beach Little League at mbya.org; Loyola Marymount University at lmu.edu or the American Liver Foundation at liverfoundation.org. A Celebration of Life will be held at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, where he was a long-standing member, at 11am on July 12, 2014. Dear Fucci Family,
Thank you so much for sharing Mike with us as an MBLL volunteer. When my dachshund was more able, I used to take longer walks with him and would often stop to converse with Tina and Mike. Mike was just as warm in a casual conversation as he was in dedication to our league. He is and will be sorely missed.

Dear Fucci Family, Sending our thoughts and prayers your way. Mike was a good friend and neighbor for many years to our family. I can still hear Tina say, "Mike" and he would come out of the garage and go to her. He will be missed.

Dear Tina, Kristen and Pat,
Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of Mike. Even though many remark about his love of baseball I have the fondest memories of the time I coached basketball with him at AMS. The fun we had coaching you Pat and the rest of the guys are dear to us. No matter the score , a win or loss we had great fun. A short time together a lasting memory. I'm sorry I can't be there today as business puts me out of state. But please know Mike and all of you are in my prayers for now and forever.

While I didn't know Mike as well as I would have liked to, I do know what a special bond he had with his daughter, Kristin, my dear friend. She truly was daddy's little girl and I'm so glad she had him as her father...what a luck girl indeed! My heart goes out to a family who lost their rock. May you find peace in your faith and the beautiful memories you all share! RIP, Mr. Fucci...RIP!
