Paul Robert Hobus

May 16, 1965 - July 19, 2018Paul Robert Hobus, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 19th. He was a beloved husband, doting father, fun loving brother, favorite uncle, coach, cousin and friend of so many. Paul, or "Paulie", as he was known to his siblings, was born in Elm Grove, Wisconsin, on May 16, 1965. He was the youngest of eight, a pretty awesome Catholic claim. He was 3 years old when his parents, Paul and Ann Hobus, moved their large family to California where he remained the rest of his life. He graduated from Mary Star of the Sea High School, and earned is bachelor's degree at Cal State Northridge on a full ride basketball scholarship. He worked in the computer solutions industry and, more recently, as a realtor with Keller-Williams in Palos Verdes. He became part of the fabric of so many lives because of his exuberant nature and great sense of humor. Paul is survived by his wife, Vicky (Caldwell) Hobus, the love of his life, and their three strapping sons: Jackson, 21, Kyle, 18 and Luke, 15; his sisters, Cindy, Patty, Mary, Theresa, and their families; and his brothers, Gus, Hugh and John, and their families.A rosary at 9:30am and a funeral Mass at 10am will be held this Saturday, July 28, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1292 W.
