Richard Sidebotham Obituary

04/03/1945 - 12/02/2022 Richard Thomas Sidebotham III passed away from ALS peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the age of 77. He was born on April 3,1945 in Los Angeles, CA. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Susan of 57 years, his son, Eric Sidebotham, daughter-in-law, Debbie, daughter, Jenny Craig, son-in-law, Tony, and six grandchildren: Riley, Kieran, Jayden, Van, Hope, and Piper. Rick was raised by his grandparents and Aunt Nora in Torrance, CA where he continued to reside. Richard was an entrepreneur and took great pride in his 53 year career in the sales and services of money systems. In 1978, Rick opened his business, Richard's Coin and Currency Counters, and officially retired in June of 2022 after 44 years of exceptional service. Rick and Sue felt blessed to live close to their family and relished in the time that they spent together. The talents he possessed were endless and extraordinary, one of which was the ability to restore classic cars. Rick built over thirty cars during the course of his life, in addition to motorcycles. He was mechanically inclined and could build and create anything from scratch. Rick had a great love for music, motorcycles, gardening, painting, traveling, and people. Most importantly, he was known to be the most genuine, selfless, kind hearted, creative, gentle, and loving soul who loved with his entire heart unconditionally. As a husband, Dad, and Papa, he was simply the greatest of all time. His guiding light, compassion for others, and zest for life will continue to live on and shine through his family and all of the lives he touched. We will be honoring Rick at Green Hills Memorial and Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA with a vigil on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the rosary beginning at 7 p.m., and his Celebration of Life on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be submitted to the ALS Golden West Chapter in honor of Richard Sidebotham and Team Can't Stop, Won't Stop - PO Box 7082, Woodland Hills, CA 91365. Our Warrior and Hero will be loved for all eternity and will forever be in our hearts.
