Robert Kropp Obituary

Kropp, Robert Eugene Jr. Born February 13, 1971, Rob passed away on February 2, 2008, just shy of his 37th birthday. A Manhattan Beach native, Rob attended Ladera and Grandview Elementary Schools, Center Middle School, and Mira Costa High School. An avid waterman, Rob's favorite place was the ocean. He loved to surf and to fish, and was never far from the beach. After high school, he lived in Newport Beach, where he indulged his lifelong passion for the sea. Rob was a kind, sensitive, and intuitive person who had a profound sense of loyalty to both family and friends. He loved to read and could always be counted on for a silly movie quotation. He was a great baseball, basketball and soccer player, and a talented golfer. Indeed, his love for golf rivaled his love of surfing. Rob had a tremendous sense of humor and had the ability to make his friends and family laugh to the point of exhaustion. He was a dedicated uncle who looked forward to spending time with his nephew and niece. Rob will be remembered for his infectious grin, his unique wit, and his generous spirit. A paddle out will be held at 12th Street in Newport Beach at 1100 on Saturday, February 16th. The spreading of Rob's ashes in the Pacific Ocean will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Surfrider Foundation, (949) 492-8170. Rob is survived by his mother, Carrol Kropp, Manhattan Beach; sister, Kortney Kropp, San Diego; twin sister; Robyn (Anthony) D'Angelo, El Segundo; nephew, Anthony D'Angelo; and niece, Ryan D'Angelo; girlfriend Valerie Lassa, Newport Beach; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He is pre-deceased by his father, Robert Kropp, Sr. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.

My Dad recently showed me Robby's obituary in the paper....and i was saddened to learn of his passing. Although we were not close friends growing up, i did know him and it hurts to see someone taken at such a young age. My prayers are with your family.

Dear Kropp Family,
I was very saddened to hear of Robbie's passing.
I remember him so well during the little league days.
I remember him and Robyn on their skates so many times at the games.
The most beautiful twins!
Find the joy in the ones that surround you. Remember Robbie for all the gifts he brought to you in his laughter and smiles.
My heart is with you.
I wish you peace at this time.
Sincerely,
Mary Ralls

Dear Carol, Kortney and Robin,

I am so sorry for the loss of our beloved Rob. I want to thank you all so much for contacting me and allowing me to say good bye to Rob with his friends at the paddle out in Newport Beach. So many people loved Rob because he had a true, sincere, generous and loving spirit. Aside being my very, very dear friend, he was a friend to many when they had no one to turn too. He was always reaching out to people. He had a legendary personality and sense of humor and he brought happiness to more peoples lives than any of us can phathom. You should know that he loved you all so much and he thought and spoke of all of you and his father affectionately every day of the nearly 20 years that I was blessed to be his friend. I will miss him deeply, but I will remember him always.

Lovely Kropp Family--hold on to the laughter, the smiles, the wit that Robbie brought to you all. He is safe in the embrace of his father as well as God's. The good times will not replace the constant absence, but will definitely bring comfort. My love to you all.

Dear Sweet Carrol...how tragic for you and your family. No words can help take the pain away. Remember the good times, his beautiful smile and hearty laugh. Know that he and Bob are watching over you and the girls and take comfort in that knowledge. Our love and prayers to you.

Caroll, Kortney, Robin, and Family -
I am still shocked and so saddened with the news. Caroll and Robin, I told you both the other day how much your family has meant to me over the years (and forever) and I meant every bit of it. Your family will ALWAYS hold a very special place in my heart. Much love to you all during this extremely difficult time. Rob and Bob are no doubt together now, playing some golf and enjoying each other's company!!! May they both rest in peace!!
Love you, love you, love you!!!
