It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vinko Gusich on April 24, 2012. He died with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. In behalf of Croatian diaspora and all Croatian emigrants in California through 90's, it was a privilege to know Vinko Gusich, the greatest president of Croatian Hall in San Pedro. He loved his old country and dedicated his life to help emigrants and the cause, to see indipendent Croatian state that we have today. We will never forget you !!! Rest in peace .

I knew Vinko through my years of volunteer work. To say the man was one of the classiest and kindest Croatians in San Pedro would be an understatement. I am deeply saddened by the passing of such a great human being. Vinko may you rest in peace in Heaven and enjoy your time meeting all the Gusics throughout history which you so lovingly researched.
