Walter Bahrke Obituary

Walter Pixner Bahrke, a 22 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in Torrance. Born in Santa Barbara, CA, Walter was 72 when he died. He worked in aerospace system and software engineering since 1961, including approximately thirty-one years at TRW and eight at Litton. His expertise includes communications protocols as well as modeling, simulation, and performance analysis of computer and communications networks of missile/air defense and commercial mobile platform web-based systems. Mr. Bahrke has been recognized by the Boeing Achievement Award. He holds a BA and MA in Mathematics respectively from the University of California, Santa Barbara and University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He is survived by his step-sister, Judith (Dave) Dowd of Simi Valley, CA and step-brother, Bruce (Leona) Vandre of St. George, UT, and their families. Preceded in death by mother, Elsa Bahrke and father, Walter Bahrke. The Service will be held at Rice Mortuary, Torrance, CA, on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. A reception will follow in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 P.M. A graveside will follow at Santa Barbara Cemetery Association in Santa Barbara.
