George Stringe Obituary

George Wilber Stringe, 77, of Frederick, CO passed away September 21, 2014 at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center. George was born March 2, 1937 in Oak Park, IL to Harry W. and Anne (Wilbur) Stringe. George grew up in Oak Park, IL and graduated from CSU in 1959. On June 11, 1959, he married Ann Rives in Boulder, CO. George had previously owned and operated his own electronic and security businesses. He retired from NCAR in 2007. George was active with the Boulder Amateur Radio Club and their program for young radio enthusiasts, BARC, Jr. He had been working for several years, restoring a 1961 MGA and enhancing the landscaping around his home. George was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Stringe and wife Sue Stringe, and Sister Louis Okeefe. George is survived by his wife Ann, 3 sons; Scott Stringe of Frederick, Brook Stringe and wife Caren of Lancaster, PA, George Stringe Jr. "Chip" and wife Jennifer of Sahuarita, AZ, daughter Amy Stringe of Frederick, 8 grandchildren; Carl Stringe, Brian Stringe and Curtis Stringe of Louisville, CO, Taylor Stringe of Tucson, AZ, Stephanie Stringe of Sahuarita, AZ, Madison Stringe, Kyleigh Stringe and Kendall Stringe of Lancaster, PA, brother-in-law Joseph Neil O'Keefe along with 3 nephews and 3 nieces. Memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to " bit.ly/1sWf6SD for West Nile virus Research" selecting the Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology Department Research. I am so sorry to hear of my Uncle's passing . He was always there for me and y family. I m so sorry I couldn't have thanked him in person.
