Lucille Barnum Obituary

Lucille Nellie Barnum, a resident of Bross Street Assisted Living in Longmont, passed away February 26, 2014 at the TRU Hospice Care Center in Lafayette at the age of 92. Lucille was born March 10, 1921 on the family farm near Paton, Iowa to John and Lucretia Tallman. She was the second youngest of eleven children. Lucille graduated from Paton High School in 1938. On March 2, 1941 she married John P. Barnum in Boone, Iowa. Lucille and J. P. lived in Gowrie, Iowa owning and operating Playdiam Bowling Alley until 1958 when they moved to Boulder, Colorado. Lucille worked at various banks and Credit Unions in the Boulder area before retiring. She is survived by her son Skip and wife JoAnn of Firestone, as well as grandsons Ryan (Kari ) of Fort Collins and Brent (Holly) of Eagle/Vail and great-grandchildren Dillon, Alli, Anna and Keely and her sister Lois Anderson of Sun City, Arizona. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband J. P., sisters Hazel Last, Velma Hamilton and Edna Zimmerman, brothers Earl, Harry, Vero, Myron, Leo and Roy Tallman. A family service to honor her life has been held.
