Mark Meredith Obituary

Mark Meredith of Boulder, Colorado died on August 19, 2023. Embodying the fruits of the spirit, Mark was a kind, positive, joyful person whose moto was "there is nothing worth more than this day." He approached life with integrity and creativity through an artist's point of view - in his daily life, work, family relationships, and friendships. Mark had a fine mind and intellect; a love of learning and life; an insatiable interest in countless topics; and respect for all people, animal life, and the earth. Mark earned a BA in Fine Arts, MA in Art Education, and a PhD in Higher Education Administration, with a cognate in management and organization from the University of Colorado, Boulder. His primary occupation was CU-Boulder for 31 years and University of Rochester for 2 years (university planning, facilities, academics, long-range); directing data collection and analysis for management, forecasting, policy and other administrative decision needs; and teaching in the Graduate Higher Education Administration program. Mark was very grateful for living in the USA; his wonderful and loving parents; his loving wife and daughter; good friends and mentors; good health; opportunities to pursue education and work; numerous interests; and for all sorts of generous help and encouragement through the years. Mark is loved, remembered, and survived by his wife and soulmate Sydney; grandson Matthew; granddaughter Sarah; his sister and brother-in-law Melinda and Gilbert Thompson and their children, Jeff, Loren and Lisa (and their families); nephews Steve, Mike, Norman, and Mark (and their families); nephew John (and his family); niece Linda; and Linda T of Sitka. Sydney and Mark are and were members of St. John's Episcopal Church in Boulder for over 60 years.

Sydney and the entire Meredith family, we are heartbroken and so sorry for your loss of Mark. He was such a wonderful, kind, friendly man. Ron and I met Mark and Syd in Boulder at the South Boulder Rec Center when Syd taught high impact aerobics back in the 1980's. The attendees in that class loved Mark and Syd and we all became fast friends ... spending lots of time together running all over Boulder, performing high impact aerobics, and having potluck parties. We treasure their friendship and share in their loss of such a great man. With much love and sympathy ... Laura & Ron Lass
