Peter Bonn-Elchoness Obituary

Peter Guthrie Bonn-Elchoness, born September 29, 2005 in Boulder, CO, died in his sleep early on November 12, 2022 at his home in Niwot, CO. Predeceased by his grandfather, Marc Elchoness, he is survived by his parents, Eve Bonn and Dave Elchoness, his beloved brothers, Henry and Charlie Bonn-Elchoness, his grandparents Andrea Elchoness, Bernie and Bonnie Bonn, his uncles Michael (Lauren) and Richard Elchoness, his aunts Emily Bonn (Paul Duncan) and Nancy Bonn (Chris Grugan), and his cousins Gabi, Paige, Cam, Charlie, Charlotte and Sam. Peter was an enormous and magnetic presence, with a talent for making friends wherever he went, chosen by his classmates as Niwot's first official best behaved boy (if you know, you know). Known for his kindness and thoughtfulness, at the start of Covid he planned a family field day for his little brother who was upset about missing his fifth grade continuation activities. His friends remember how he made each of them feel truly cared for, a skill he hoped to use in the future by studying psychology. A senior at Niwot High School, Peter was an accomplished fencer who had recently qualified for the Junior Olympics, a violinist who was concert master of his first year orchestra, and mock trial team member who lettered his freshman year. Beloved by family, friends, teachers and coaches, he will forever be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mental Health Partners (mhpcolorado.org), both to honor Peter's desire to help other people through counseling, and so that other grieving families may be able to get the help they need.
