Nicholas Jon Herman, 25, of Champion, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, in Excela Health Frick Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1993, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Randy Herman of Connellsville and Christine Cole Shultz of North Carolina.
Nicholas was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School. He was employed by Ritenour Lumber Company, Champion. He was an excellent athlete who was also an avid hunter and fisherman, and he was a big Steelers fan.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Shana, Lainey and Madeline; his maternal grandfather, Kenny Cole of Champion; uncle, Mark Cole; his paternal grandmother, Sandra L. May Herman; aunts and uncles, Cindy Costabile and her late husband Mark Costabile Sr., Albert L. Herman III and his friend Tammy, Lauri Schomer and her husband Thomas, Michael Herman and his wife Crystal, Patrick Herman and his wife Jessie, and Jennifer Mackey and her husband John; his cousins, William R. Costabile Jr. and his wife Alicia, Chad Costabile and his wife Andrea, Malory Costabile and her friend Roger, Cortnee Earl and her husband Art, Brennan Schomer and his friend Krystle,
Lyndsee Schomer and her friend Tyler, Michel Herman Jr. and his wife Melayna, Luke Herman and his wife Amanda, April Herman, Jayli Mackey, and Jayna Mackey.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Nancy Cole; his paternal grandfather, Albert L. Herman Jr.; and his father Randy's fiancée, Janet Goretsky.
Family and close friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, the hour of service, in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, with the Rev. Daniel Ulishney officiating.
Interment will be private.
