Ronald C. Galliete, 71 of Scottdale, died Friday, June 25, 2021, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 6, 1949, in Connellsville, a son of Dolores A. Galliete Groh of South Connellsville and the late John Groh. Ron was a 1967 graduate of Connellsville High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years.
He was a former member of the Scottdale VFW, where he served as a former officer. He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Reynolds Galliete, with whom he would have been married to for 50 years in September; two children, Ronald "Butch" Galliete and his wife Marlene of Del Rio, Texas and Wendi Galliete of Scottdale; his grandchildren, Zachary, Tatum, Taylor, Mace, Cole, Casey and Elijah Galliete; his brothers, John Groh and his wife Sharon of Connellsville, David Groh of South Connellsville, Michael Groh and his wife Robin of South Connellsville and Jeffrey Groh and his wife Wendy of Leisenring; and his sisters, Susan Cross and her husband Donald of South Connellsville and Bonita Groh of South Connellsville.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lee Maley officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted by the Connellsville American Legion and VFW Honor Guard.
