Georgia J. Rust died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007 in her Sacramento home at age 81.
Mrs. Rust was born April 19, 1926 in Spokane, Wash. She graduated from Bishop Johnson College of Nursing in Los Angeles in 1947. She worked as an RN at Good Samaritan Hospital in L.A. and both Stanford and Merritt Hospitals in the Bay Area. She moved from Oakland to Sacramento in 1963 where she began her 34-year career as a librarian at Sacramento Country Day School.
Survivor's include Mrs. Rust's daughters, Debbie Rust of Sacramento, Marcia Hammill and husband Ken, of Woodland, Sharon King of Stone Mountain, GA.; grandsons, Brandon and Adam Huff of Woodland; mother-in-law, Emma Gerhart of Grass Valley; sister-in-law, Thelma Pankonin of Tuscon, AZ.; nephew, Gregg Tosello of Anchor Bay; her caregiver, Seteri Daveta; numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georgia's name to: Sacramento Country Day School - Georgia Rust Library; Salvation Army of Sacramento or Sacramento SPCA.
Services: A celebration of her life will take place at Sacramento Country Day School on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. located at 2636 Latham Drive, Sacramento.
