Carly Bradley Obituary
BROOKLYN- Carly Elaina Bradley, 30, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, surrounded by so much love from her fiancé Ruben Serrano, and her family: parents, Pat and Ginny Bradley; brother, Padraic; sisters, Kasey and Alley; and her brother-in-law, Sid.
Although Carly was eventually taken away from us by brain cancer, which she battled stoically for over 13 years, cancer patient was not the label that defined her. Carly will always be remembered for her magnetic personality, dynamic smile, quick wit, compassion for others, and overall love of life. Carly's strength emanated to whomever came in contact with her; it is this strength that enables her family and friends to go on. Graduate of Binghamton University with a degree in Urban Planning, she had a passion for people and places and began her career employed by the city of Poughkeepsie. There she worked on a number of projects, including the Walkway over the Hudson, and soon after followed her dream of working in NYC in several real estate roles, before eventually settling in as a property manager at Wharton Properties where she flourished for four years in a small yet demanding Manhattan office. Carly fell in love with Brooklyn, where she lived, but renewed her upstate pride with a recent purchase in Rhinebeck shared by the love of her life, Ruben. Carly took much enjoyment in the simplicity of life; grabbing a cup of tea from Starbucks, having lunch in the park, and doing crossword puzzles. A sports enthusiast that loved golfing with her father and brother, playing tennis with her sisters, watching college hoops, football, and baseball with Ruben. Among her many passions, she took great pride in helping and inspiring others by volunteering in some of her favorite charities, The Make A Wish Foundation and The American Cancer Society. Carly is also survived by her grandmother, Mary V. Bradley; nephew, Atticus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Cremation and memorial arrangements under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh.com. Friends will be received at the funeral home for a memorial visitation on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church Kingston.

Dear Pat and Ginny,
I have such wonderful memories of Carly in the third grade! Each morning when she came in her smile lit up the whole room. She was kind and friendly to all of her classmates and made the ESL girls feel especially welcome. One of my proudest moments with her was during the math PEP tests. A tricky question tripped up all the other students in the class but not Carly! As I said to you at the wake, "I feel privileged to have been Carly's teacher and a part of her life.
