Flora Greenwald Obituary

Flora Greenwald KINGSTON- Flora Greenwald, of Kingston, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at Kingston Hospital. She was 94. She was born in Warsaw, Poland, on May 27, 1918, a daughter of the late Hyman & Clara Horowitz Glowitz. She married David H. Greenwald on Dec. 17, 1939, in the Bronx. Flora immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island in 1922 with her mother and brother. She lived in the Bronx and Yonkers before moving to Kingston in 1961. She attended Hunter College in NYC, worked for Dr. Eugene Mandel in Kingston for many years and also worked for Kingston Hospital Radiology. She was a member of B'nai Brith, former member of Congregation Ahavath Israel and was an auxiliary member of both Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals. She is survived by two sons, Joel C. Greenwald and his wife Claire of Torrance, Calif. and Roger J. Greenwald and his wife Natalie of San Diego, Calif., and her brother, Louis Glowitz of Boca Raton, Fla. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. I will miss Flora, such a wonderful lady. I will miss opening her emails and sending her some back. When I saw her she would says thanks for the tid bits, with a smile. I loved picking her and Dave up for their appointments. They were so good together and they are now together once again. I will miss her so much.
