George Campbell Obituary

George Clemens Campbell LENOX, MASS.- George Clemens Campbell, 84, of Lenox, Mass., and Stuart, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016. George was born on March 16, 1932 in Greenlawn, Long Island, N.Y. to the late George Edgar and Margaret Clemens Campbell. George grew up in High Falls, N.Y. and was a graduate of Kingston, NY High School, class of 1950. George was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. George graduated from Indiana University Graduate School of Banking at Bloomington, Ind. George worked 44 years in the banking industry including a Senior Lending position with Rhinebeck National bank with offices throughout the Hudson Valley in upstate New York. George retired from banking in 1996. He and his wife, Patricia, then living in Hurley, N.Y., moved to a retirement community in Stuart, Fla. George served the VFW Post in Stuart, Fla. as Quartermaster, Trustee, and Piper of the Post’s Honor Guard. George is survived by his loving wife, Patricia of 44 years; his step-children, Linda Mac Donald, Joann Campbell, Alfred, his wife Ann Shanahan Monti; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is George’s brother, Edgar, of Westchester and Stone Ridge, N.Y. and Edgar’s children Mark, Matthew, Kathleen, Susan and eleven nieces and nephews. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for George C. Campbell will be Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at 11 a.m. inside the St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum located in St. Joseph Cemetery with the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church officiating. There will be an hour of visitation at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, Mass., prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Renal Dialysis (FORD), care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in his memory. So sad to hear of this news! George was such a kind and intelligent man, a true gift to those who knew him. We lost touch a few years back, and I regret not having tried harder. His spirit will not be forgotten!

Dearest Mrs. Campbell, May your husband be blessed always. Take care and know how much he adored you. I loved caring for him at the dialysis center, such enjoying conversations we had.
