George R. Collier KINGSTON- George R. Collier, 92, of Kingston, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at home. He was born Jan. 27, 1920 in Kingston, to the late George H. and Louise (Scherer) Collier. He was married to Ada (Daubek) Collier; they wed on July 19, 1942. George served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater of Operations from 1942 until 1945. After returning home, he worked as a watch engineer for New York Telephone Company in Kingston. He retired in 1982 after 32 years with the company. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Beverly Rice of Hurley, Bruce Collier and his wife Elizabeth of Fla. a sister Dorothy Trombley of New Baltimore, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Michael Collier, and his sisters, Rita Radel and Betty Collier. Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Services will be held privately.
