Joseph Newkirk Obituary

SAUGERTIESâ?¦. Joseph Ben Newkirk, 58, of Clermont St. died Thursday, November 17, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born December 10, 1963 in Kingston he was the son of the late Benjamin and Audrey Snyder Newkirk. A lifetime area resident, Joe was a graduate of Saugerties High School Class of 1982. He loved the outdoors and sports. He found joy in playing cornhole, fishing, kayaking, baseball, football and rooting on his teams, the Buffalo Bills and NY Mets Survivors included two sisters: Linda (Jon) Brown of Kingston and Susan Sapunarich of Catskill. Two brothers: Stephen (Dottie) Newkirk of Hurley and Gary (Teresa) Newkirk of Saugerties. A sister in law: Stephanie Newkirk, his beloved dog, Titus, and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Mark Newkirk. Friends will be received Sunday from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Family suggests donations in his memory be made to the Saugerties Animal Shelter, 4 High St., Saugerties. Further obituary information, expressions of condolence and photos are encouraged to be shared as a Tribute Book will be organized for the Newkirk Family at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
