Nancy Schoonmaker Obituary

Nancy P. Micari Schoonmaker LAKE KATRINE- Nancy P. Micari Schoonmaker died Saturday, May 10, 2016, at Tenbroeck Commons Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. She was 73 years old. Born May 30, 1942 in Queens, N.Y., she was daughter of Vincent and Ada Heather Micari. She is survived by six children, Patricia, Sandra-Lee and her husband George, John, Lisa, David and Scott; 15 grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Rachel and husband Bryan, Wayne, Kathryn, John, Brandon and his wife Whitney, Lindsay, Kelsie, Michael, Ricky, Jasmine, Nicholas, Valentino and David; and six great-grandsons, Bryan, Dylan, Jayce, Gavin, Colby and Jaden. She is also survived by one brother, Larry Micari; one sister, Carol Micari; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Peter Vincent Schoonmaker; two brothers, Charles and Vincent; and two sisters, Mary and Frances. Although she worked outside the home over the years, her most important job and greatest accomplishment was being a loving mother and friend. Her kind heart and humble character led her to always help others in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services were private and under the direction of Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, if donations wish to be made to do so in her remembrance to The Well Thrift Shop 80-84 Partition St., Saugerties, N.Y.
