Vlasta ‘Pat’ Havranek NEW PALTZ - Vlasta ‘Pat’ Havranek, 88, of New Paltz died Monday Oct. 27, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingston where she had been a resident since 2011. Together with her husband they owned and operated the Log Rail Inn in New Paltz until retiring. Pat enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in New Paltz. Her husband Oldrich ‘Bill’ Havranek died in 1984, a son James Havranek died in 2011, and three brothers also died previously. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Walis and her husband Lee of New Paltz, four sons, William Havranek and his wife Beatrice of Rosendale, Joseph Havranek and his wife Deb of New Paltz, David Havranek and his wife Gwen of Gardiner, Paul Havranek and his wife Dru of Wallkill. Also survived by grandchildren Joseph and Bill Havranek, Jonah and Sayra Havranek, Matthew and Lindsey Havranek, Paul and Sam Havranek, Bron, Emily, and Valerie Walis, great-grandchildren Blake, Brooke, and Jay Walis, and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held 9 a.m. Friday from the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, New Paltz. Rev. Michael Ramos will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Gardiner. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 488 Main St., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601.
