A. Laurie Obituary
Born in Schenectady to John and Elizabeth (Connelly) Crowley, Laurie was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and went on to become a Registered Nurse after graduating from the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing.
Laurie's greatest passion was caring for others, especially babies and young children. She spent many years as a pediatric nurse, and was a long-time school nurse for the Schenectady City School District. She was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family. Laurie was a talented artist, lover of family games, puzzles and crosswords. She was an avid reader and was enamored by her grandchildren. Her sense of humor, warm embrace and bright blue eyes will be missed every single day.
Laurie leaves behind her loving husband, Rick; her three children, Lyndsay (Daniel) Powhida, Eric Leone, and Britton (Alyssa) Leone; her four grandchildren: Parker, Sydney, Brooks and Audrey, whom she loved beyond measure. She is also survived by her sister, Ann (Brian) Daley, brothers Daniel (Angela) Crowley and John (Trish) Crowley and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Laurie was predeceased by her brother, Michael Crowley; father, John; mother, Elizabeth; and mother-in-law, Mary Leone.
We thank her for teaching us what true kindness is and hope you'll all go on to do "the next right thing" in her memory.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 2, at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 1241 State St, Schenectady, NY 12304. Interment will follow in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Laurie in a special way, may make a donation to Community Hospice Foundation, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or the Schenectady City Mission, PO Box 760 Schenectady, NY 12301.

I am so saddened to see a dear friend has passed away. I worked with Laurie at Howe Magnet School and taught her three children as well. Laurie was a kind and loving school nurse. She was a friend to all who worked with her. My deepest sympathies to her precious family.

I am just learning of Mrs.Leone´s passing. She was my son´s school nurse at Howe school. I remember her very well she was always so kind to everyone! A true gem! I am so very sorry for your loss!

Mrs Leone made all of those horrible stories about mean school nurses not true. She was one of the kindest, compassionate women I have ever met. I was lucky enough to be good friends with Eric in our childhood years always being at their house and seeing how much she loved her family just always put a smile on your face. I pray that she continues to watch over and guide her family as they navigate through without her physically being here. And know that all of her goodness is embedded in each and every one of her Children.
