Anthony Festa Obituary

Anthony D. Festa "Tony", 58, passed away Saturday, October 31, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Troy, NY on September 9, 1957. Tony was a Building and Grounds Foreman at Knolls Atomic Power Lab in West Milton for 40 years. He served as Business Agent for Local 301. Tony was actively involved in the Ballston Area Recreation Center. He coached soccer, lined the fields and helped out with whatever needed to be done. He was the past president of the Ballston Spa Soccer Club and coached the Girls Raiders Travel Soccer Team. Tony also coached the Ballston Spa Modified Boys Soccer Team during their undefeated seasons of 2000 and 2001. Tony was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ballston Spa. Tony was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his wife Mary Lou. He loved horseracing and was an excellent handicapper. He shared many winning tips with his friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Rita Lyons Festa. Tony is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; children, Lisa Festa Dorman (William II) of Ballston Spa and Anthony L. Festa of Astoria; father, Sylvester Festa Jr. of Mechanicville; brother, Louis Festa (Kathleen) of Mechanicville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 4 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 3, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Memorial contributions in memory of Tony may be made to BARC (Ballston Area Recreation Center), 61 Eastern Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY 12020. MaryLou, Anthony & Lisa:
Our dearest condolences on your loss. One of our favorite family memories involves Derek's brief baseball career with Tony as his coach. "SWING that bat, Derek!!!" That full stentorian voice is surely resounding in the fields of heaven.
